I've been away from Oppo for a bit but that's because I've been doing awesome car things for the last 10 days! Here is a photo dump with some brief descriptions. (Planelopnik at the end)
Last week began with the opening of the DC auto show. I got to meet Ed Welburn which was awesome!
GM brought lots of Corvettes....
After the Society for Automotive Engineers conference which is held with the opening of the auto show wrapped up I got on a plane and headed to New Orleans for the National Auto Dealers Association Convention. It is an absolutely massive convention and it would have to imagine it gives Detroit a run for its money as the largest automotive gathering in the US. On the show floor there is everything you would need to run a dealership. All the OEMs have booths as well as lift companies, aftermarket parts, garage doors, snap on tools, etc.
AEV was there with some kick ass jeeps
390 cubic inches of freedom.
Best freebie of the show? I think so...
Truck dealers were also there
I spoke with several lift salesmen about what would be best for my garage. I think I've settled on a two post with 10,000 lbs lift capacity and a 3 foot extension up top.
I thought this roof rack by rocky ridge trucks was pretty cool.
those of you who read automotive news will find this tremendously amusing.
Along with the convention itself, there are a number of lavish parties that go on at night. This one took place at the WW II museum in New Orleans which I found quite impressive.
This B-25 was a ship raider in the Pacific. It had a total of 18 ma deuce .50 cal machine guns on board! A spiritual ancestor of the A-10 warthog for sure.
Hope y'all enjoyed.
